Things get crazy sometimes.
Because of this fact, I’ve fallen way behind on my reading list for this year. So, instead of playing catch-up for the rest of the year and feeling like a failure while doing it (you know what that’s like), I’ve decided to revamp and rework my reading list. Here it is:
Crazy Love – ChanHumility – Mahaney- Desiring God – Piper
- The Jesus I Never Knew – Yancey
- Vintage Jesus – Driscoll
- The Weight of Glory – Lewis
- Developing the Leader Within You – Maxwell
- The Knowledge of the Holy – Tozer
- The Great Divorce – Lewis
- Lit – Edwards
- Prayer – Foster
- Mere Christianity – Lewis
With all of this, I’m also reading through The Chronicles of Narnia collection for some lighter reading. I’m pretty happy with this list and I’m praying it helps to grow and mature as a believer. Right now I’m searching and being intentional about personally answering the question Jesus asks in Luke 9:20, “Who do you say I am?”. This, along with searching for my own identity, is the lens I’m looking through right now at all I’m reading and in the Scripture.
Outside of the Bible, What are you reading?

Justin did a study earlier this year on The Knowledge of the Holy and really enjoyed it. I also have read Mere Christianity and it was intense. I need to reread it. I have been ready some Christian Love stories for light reading if you’re interested. Karen Kingsbury is pretty awesome, haha. I also read My Sister’s Keeper like 4 years ago and now it’s getting all big again because of the movie, but I would totally recommend it. It has been one of my favorites for a while. Lastly, I’m trying to go back and re-read some of the classics that we read while in high school but I didn’t really appreciate because of the time of our lives: To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, Pride and Prejudice, The Things They Carried, etc…ENJOY!

@Nikki // You’ve got some work ahead of you, hah. I’ve read both The Knowledge of the Holy and Mere Christianity, which is why I’m reading it again. Thanks for sharing.

Crazy Love is pretty awesome. We’re going to go through the Crazy Love DVDs as a small group this summer.
I’m reading a couple of great books by Mark Buchanan: The Holy Wild and Your God Is Too Safe. Great books.
