101:. April Fool’s Folly

So, I wanted to write about this yesterday, but I’ve been delaying it so our SBFCC could play out (again, congrats to Duane!). I am completely torn when it comes to April Fools Day. On one side, I love a good prank. It can be hilarious. Like the time we got my buddy’s lovely, wonderful, kind, forgiving (see what I’m doing here) girlfriend to believe that our friend eloped and got married. Hook, Line, and Sinker. It was awesome. She made a cake and we had a fake party for it. Great memory.
On the other hand, this scenario can play out:
Antagonist 1: So I lost my job today.
Guy 1: That sucks, I’m so sorry.
Antagonist 1: Just kidding, April Fools!
Guy 1: Ohh man, you got me. Funny.
**Later that day**
Antagonist 2: Whoa geez dude, did you hear about Jill and I? We broke it off and are getting divorced!
Guy 1: Ohh man, thats horrible. I thought you guys were happy and doing well. What happened?!?
Antagonist 2: HaHa, Got you man. April Fools
Guy 1: Dude, so not funny. So Lame.
**Even later that day**
Lamenting Friend: Dude, my dad died.
Guy 1: Yea right man, whatever. I’m not falling for this April Fools *$^&$ anymore!
Lamenting Friend: Nah man, for real. He died in a car wreck today. This is a real tragedy, this sucks!
Guy 1: No dude, you really suck.
Then it’s really awkward at the funeral.
My message, be careful on April Fools. But if you’re gonna prank someone, Go big or Go home. Happy April Fools day.
